Refining your event searchHow to filter events on chessengland.com and add events to your own online calendar!Did you know that you can look for events on the Chess England calendar by event type as well as date? Hit the “Agenda” button at the top right of the calendar and you can select or deselect four categories of events. For example if you love blitz chess tournaments, then deselect all the other options until you are left with just the blitz events. You can click on any entry in my calendar for more details of the event and a link to the entry form. Likewise filter for rapid tournaments like Kensington or Golders Green. These usually feature six games in one day. I add events to the calendar as they are booked so you can often find events six to twelve months in advance! International tournaments, I usually only put longer tournaments over 5 days in this category such as Southend Easter Festival or any event where you can get a title norm. Finally, weekend tournaments, these are usually FIDE rated too, but last just two or three days. Also did you realise you can automatically add my events to your online calendar by clicking the plus sign icon at the bottom right of the calendar page? See you at an event soon!
