APRILThe Southend Easter Chess Festival 2025 has been launched on the Festival website, organised by Giant Chess. We look forward to seeing all our friends again at Easter for this popular festival. The discounts apply only to the section Entry Fees (£32 for the Rapid and £48 for the 7-Round sections) and you can only use one of them, even if you fall in two discount categories! But if you enter the Rapid and a 7-Round section, both fees will be discounted with the one coupon. However, there is NO deduction from the ECF Pay to Play Fee (if this applies to you) nor from Donations (which we are always grateful to receive). Those who participated in the Rapid in 2024 will recall that the facilities available that day were less than ideal. The good news is that there will be no repeat of that state of affairs for the Rapid 2025. All facilities that regular competitors, friends and families are used to will be available, together with yElena’s acclaimed catering. There will also be a Masters event, embracing not one but two tournaments, each 10 player all-play-all, i) GMs; ii) IMs. These events are being organised by Lance Leslie-Smith.
