PLEASE NOTE that from September, it will cost non-ECF or Bronze members £7.00 extra to play (£5.00 for U16s) as the ECF has raised membership fees. ANYONE can play but joining the ECF will make it cheaper.  Join now to save money!

Also from September we will start using FIDE rapid ratings to determine seeding for events - not to determine eligibilty.  We will still use ECF rapid grades to determine eligibility for a section - but using FIDE ratings will make the calculations of rating performance more realistic, and Golders Green has been a FIDE rated event for long enough that most of you already have a rating.  What do you think?

In each section of GG there is a guaranteed £100.00 first prize and £50.00 second prize.

There is also a £30.00 grading prize in each section.  This is usually a prize for the best score by a player graded under 180 (in the Open), under 155 (in the Major), under 130 (in the Minor) and under 105 (in the Amateur) respectively.
