NEXT EVENT IS 9TH MAY. 90 players took part today.  Here is a pic by Shaun Brewer of the exciting finish to the top board game in round one - 14 year old Callum Brewer beat Russian Grandmaster Alex Cherniaev!

Grandmaster Alex Cherniaev came first, despite an upset in round one to Callum Brewer.  Alex scored 5/6 and won £60.00.  FM Peter Sowray and David Okike scored 4.5/6 and won £15.00 each.  Federico Rocco scored 4/6 and won the £30.00 Under 180 grading prize.
Major Under 170

Raghu Kamath got 5.5/6 and won £60.00.  Adrian Somerfield scored 5/6 and won second prize of £30.00.  Sid Jacob won the Under 155 grading prize of £30.00 for his score of 4.5/6.
Minor Under 145  

Neil Cannon came through with 5/6 to take outright first and £60.00.  Jacques Tivillier got 4.5/6 and £30.00 for second place.  The Under 130 grading prize was shared on 4/6 by Chris Tobolis and Anthony Bynnersley who won £15.00 each.
Amateur Under 120

Lorenzo Rocco played a blinder and got the only 100% of the day with 6/6 and £60.00.  Patrick Sartain finished on 5/6 and won £30.00.  The Under 105 grading prize was shared by Jennifer Goldsmith and Tim Demetris on 4/6 - they won £15.00 each.
