Congratulatulations to Demis Hassabis, CEO of DeepMind, who recently sold his company to Google for the healthy sum of £400m.

Old-timers at Golders Green Rapidplay chess tournaments will remember Demis well, as the teenage prodigy who competed in the Open event on many occasions until his career in intelligent computer games design really took off.  More recently his brother George, a professional poker player, has taken up the chess challenge.
